The protected nature at Skiveren faces the part of the North Sea called Skagerrak, and here the Blue Flag beach is broad and suited for children. The beach can be entered by car, making it ideal for the physically impaired. Along the coast at the top of Denmark you have mile after mile of lovely sandy beaches. There are several clothes-free beaches in North Jutland, and one of them can be found about 1 km northeast of Skiveren. The nature in the area around Skiveren is perfect for active holidays – here you can enjoy hiking, cycling, swimming, jogging and much more at the beach, among the dunes or the heaths and shrublands. For all those who love angler fishing this is possible from piers along the coast, in several day-ticket lakes and a number of streams, for example Uggerby Å and Elling Å. Please note that for fishing in Denmark (e.g. streams, but not day-ticket lakes) you need a fishing license – this can be bought at official tourist information offices, camping sites and some shops.
